GMM Week in Review (June 23-27 2025)

Season 27 of GMM has concluded and while we've got marathons to look forward to (yay...), let's take a look at the final week of episodes and see how they stack up!

🏆 Episode of the Week

My Pick: "Blind Taco Taste Test" - Okay, I am LOVING these revisits. I could see how some would see it as they're running out of ideas, but I think they execute it really well. As someone who was watching during the first time they did these taste tests, it's cool watching them go back and see what's changed, and what's stayed the same. Also love the throwback to "franken" rounds! Would really like to see more of these (and maybe expand upon the revisits to whole episode formats #picknputt) in the next season!

📅 Daily Breakdown

🔹 Monday – "Blind Taco Taste Test" Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Don't want to rehash what I just said, but I am confused why they didn't test Qdoba this time round. Did I miss some Qdoba drama?

🔹 Tuesday – "Speed Drawing Challenge" Rating: ⭐️

Ouch. That's the feeling of us falling HARD off the high of Monday. I can't begin to explain how uninterested I was during this episode. I appreciate them trying, but I don't want to watch them play dress up. They swung and missed here.

🔹 Wednesday – "Frozen Vs. Fast Vs. Fancy Food Taste Test" Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

We're brought back with Naked foods! One thing to know about me is that I'm very judgy when it comes to guests on GMM. Aside from Post Malone and a handful of others, most guests just don't vibe, This episode was fine. I didn't know Julie Bowens before watching and I haven't thought about her at all until just now writing this. I just wish they did guest stuff with a different format and had another Crew or Kitchen member on for this.

🔹 Thursday – "Can We Find The Secret Compartment?" Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was... fine. I really liked the premise of spotting the secret compartment, but the improv was tough to watch sometimes. Don't get my wrong, I like Emily and Jordan, but it just didn't click for me here. I think they could've done a better game with the secret compartments idea.

🔹 Friday – "We Tried EVERY Red Food" Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Okay we are SO back! Really have liked this version of Gut Check since they started. I wish they included multiple red flavors and/or natural red things for funsies, but I still appreciated it and had a jolly good time.

😂 Funniest Moment of the Week

My personal fav was in the Blind Taco Taste Test when Rhett was crowned the "Don Juan Taco" and politely declined to accept the prize.

🏆 BEST MORE

Buried the lead here, but the HIGHLIGHT of the week and by far the most fun I had was the Brownie Sunday Battle! I absolutely adore these More's and I hope they keep on doing them! I think they should devote more time or energy or something into making it bigger and better. It's the best content they put out and a fitting way to send off Season 27 as the Friday More.

🧠 Final Thoughts

I have thoughts about how they do "seasons", but I think it was a fairly strong week. We did have some dud Mains, but Friday really came in clutch. Now we get to try and find something else to do while we eat our breakfast until they come back from their "break"! What was your favorite episode this week? Let me know in the comments!
